There is nothing on the bottom frame, and here one part says: “If the area is empty, then save it entirely for the sake of an EVEN larger display!” Although it’s normal, I don’t (I think it’s not normal) understand that there were no such connections between the screen and the body, and the engineers have already tried to create those that are in front.

Above the screen in the center there is a neat small speaker, a left-handed one with two sensors (brightness and proximity), infrared illumination for recognizing the iris of the eye in the impenetrable darkness, behind behind it there is a light indicator (light blue or red). Right-handed in front of the speaker there is a front camera and a sensor for scanning the iris of the eye. The front for scanning the iris is not affected.

The back panel has a dry surface that is susceptible to stains and does not have an oleophobic coating. A little more in the center of the display is the Samsung logo, which is not flashy chrome, but has a modest gray color. Above the logo in the center there is a camera, the left-handed one is a heart rate sensor and a single monitor. I can’t say that the bedrooms are bright and warm. The right-handed camera displays a finger scanner, which is less handy and I don’t use it.

At the top end of the expansion there is a hybrid tray for two SIM cards in Nano format, or one card and memory cards. Chipset

The heart of the flagship SM-G950F is the top-of-the-line 2017 processor Exynos 8895 (analogue). It has 8 cores, 4 of which are light-weight and energy saving – ARM Cortex-A53 with a maximum frequency of 1690 MHz. Another 4 cores are manufactured using the Samsung Exynos M1 (Mongoose) architecture. It operates complex tasks at a maximum frequency of 2314 MHz.

The greatest feature of the processor is its 10-nanometer (nm) manufacturing technology. Virologists have stopped increasing gigahertz and strength, and have lost energy efficiency and compactness. So you understand, 10 nm is almost twice as small as the small 14 nm top-end chip Snapdragon 821. With this, productivity has not gone to another level, and energy consumption is much less.

But it’s not critical, because the human eye can capture a maximum of 30 frames per second.

The smartphone gets a little warm in even the foggy weather, and holding it in your hands is no longer comfortable. Heating of the markings does not only occur in games at maximum settings, but this problem in other smartphones with a similar pressure chip may be significantly worse.

Doctors who watch the chipset behind the most delicate technical process - heating is less obvious. Previously, I didn’t hear about problems with heating in other painters, and I actually believe that at this moment there is a problem with the device itself, which is not commercial (sent for inspection by the manufacturer). Memory

I will say right away that autonomy is not a problem for the Samsung S8. The battery capacity is 3000 mAg, and it shows average survivability. If you change the display size and its diagonal, then everything is bad.

Sound

I'm not a music lover, but with the Samsung S8 I wanted it. The sound on the headphones is simply amazing. Perhaps, I just didn’t feel the clear sound before, but having downloaded the track in flac format and in the same format from the Galaxy A5, I realized that the S8 would sound like a god. The outside is surrounded by music. My A-fifth, aligned with the flagship of 2017 rock, sounds like a leprechaun drowning in the toilet.

The external speaker of the flagship still plays poorly, but there are no stereo speakers. The sound comes from one speaker on the bottom end, louder and louder than for a smartphone. The noise level is 70.3 dB.

The Samsung S8 is running on the latest Android 7 operating system at the time of release. The Samsung Experience shell is installed on top, I currently have version 8.1. It works all smoothly, but with a special proprietary animation, which is similar to the effect of the window’s glottling on Windows. The main desktop displays the year-old calendar, the weather and a row of Google searches, and with a standard “pinch” you can install widgets, program icons, and add screens where you can swipe to the right. Swipe up and down, or suddenly it says “screenshot with add-ons”. If you swipe your finger left-handed from the right edge, the EDGE panel will appear with the ability to quickly access selected programs, contacts, and other options for taking screenshots.

The GPU produces a smooth interface at maximum frame rates. No similar lags were noted in third-party add-ons.

Bixby

By swiping left-right on the main screen, as well as a button on the side, you can open the Bixby interface, where you can find cards that you can customize yourself. The matrix in the main camera is ISOCELL, model S5K2L2. I assume that in the American and Korean versions the Sony sensor model IMX333 (or another name IMX260 Pro) is used. It seems that there is no difference between the Samsung S8 photos with different matrices. The S7 had a situation where the Sony sensor photographed in warm colors. The size of S5K2L2 is large – 1/2.5". The pixel is also not small – 1.4 microns.

During all displays, the camera does not protrude from the body.

The main camera of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7 practically does not interfere with photography. I respect the video S8 dominates.

The butt is pointed lower on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7 in HDR modes. The Torish flagship turned out better.

The monitor displays a Samsung operating system based on Android, which is currently similar to Windows. It runs standard programs and office solutions from Microsoft. I didn’t get the chance to tinker with this gadget for long, lest I talk about this bad thing.

With DeX, you can open your browser, work in office programs, view and edit photos. Programs open in new windows. Instagram and others are launched, but there are still few programs adapted for this platform.

To another feature, I will introduce the ability to unlock the device using the iris of the eye or by revealing it. It seems that the scanner can be fooled by a deconstructed photograph, but it’s not so simple and who would bother? If it is better to ask for an option sooner rather than later, especially where you are going, then with the finger scanner everything will be scanned quickly, except that it will not recognize a wet finger in a very handy place.

The third feature is the presence of a heart rate scanner.

Until the fourth feature, which I had not guessed before, I will bring to light the logo-sawist behind the IP68 standard.

Pros and cons of Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S8 is absolutely brilliant and original. It is clearly visible among the “classmates” due to the materials used in the body and smooth contours.

To put it bluntly, despite the 5.8-inch diagonal, its dimensions are not large: 148.9 68.1 8.1 mm. Above the display there is a speaker, a front camera and a light sensor. The navigation buttons have instead moved directly to the screen.

On the right side of the device you can add volume buttons and a key to activate the Bixby voice assistant. The up button is located on the left side. The slot for nanoSIM is now located on the top end of the smartphone, where you can find an additional microphone. At the bottom end there were a mini-Jack, USB Type-C, a microphone opening and slots for a music speaker.

Samsung Galaxy S8 has a built-in keyboard. It is easy to work with text and encourages continuous typing.

The brightness of a single musical speaker is average. Skoda does not have stereo speakers, but the diagonal of the display is suitable for watching videos. The maximum loudness of the call melody becomes 69 dB - to equalize, this loudness is used during the hour of intense activity.

Productivity – 4.7

The productivity of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is high, which is why it has become one of our leaders. It’s difficult to get enough reserves for any games or programs.

In Russia, the Galaxy S8 is sold with the latest characteristics:

It is significant that, regardless of high productivity, heating at normal temperatures is low - no more than 38 degrees. This temperature does not change in any way.

Battery – 3.7

I don’t understand why it’s not in the center, because other phones have a fingerprint scanner installed on the back. I suspect that Samsung wants to build this into the display, but it just didn’t have the time.

I also can’t imagine how good this phone will continue to work after many months of being out of service. Adding Gorilla Glass 5 to both the front and back may provide a little more protection, otherwise I would end up with a cracked Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 after falling from a height of only 2 feet. I'm sure everything will be different with the Samsung Galaxy S8, but it still looks like a phone that will require careful handling.

However, the 5.8-inch display size is somewhat deceptive. Don't buy this phone thinking that it has the same screen size as the Nexus 6P or HTC U Ultra in a much smaller body. This is a tall screen, and more, lower S7, and even more, lower correct phones. The width is slightly wider, lower on the iPhone 7 and noticeably narrower, lower on the Pixel XL.

Like most Samsung phones, the AMOLED panel has a slightly unpaired quad-HD+ 2960 x 1440 resolution.
