SpaceSniffer is a portable, cost-free program that will help you understand the structure of folders and files on your hard drive. The SpaceSniffer visualization diagram will clearly show you which places have large folders and files located on your devices. Disktective is a cost-free, portable utility that shows the real size of directories and the division of subdirectories and files in them. A folder is selected or the disk is analyzed, and the result is displayed in a tree view and diagrams. The interface is English, the information collected is English.

The interface is English, not portable. DiskSavvy is a fast and lightweight disk space analyzer that allows you to monitor disk space on hard drives, edge drives and NAS servers. The header displays hundreds of disk space allocated by each directory and file. You can also easily view the pie charts that show the results in a graphical format. It takes a lot to adjust.

DiskSavvy is available in a cost-free version, as well as a new Pro version, which provides additional capabilities and technical support. The cost-free version allows you to scan a maximum number of files – 500,000, for a maximum hard drive capacity of 2 TB. It supports common file names, unicode file names, and allows you to copy, move, and delete files directly across programs. It's a cool program that suits me.

For each selected folder or drive, GetFoldersize displays the total size of all files in that folder or drive, as well as the number of files and attachments they have. You can use GetFoldersize to scan an unlimited number of files and folders on internal and external hard drives, DVDs, and media drives. This program supports multiple file and folder names and Unicode characters and can display file sizes in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes and gigabytes. GetFoldersize allows you to grow a folder tree and save information in a text file.

Versions of GetFoldersize are available both in a portable version and in installations, so you can carry it on a flash drive or an external USB drive. However, if you install GetFoldersize, you will be given the option to launch from the context menu in Windows Explorer, which allows you to print the scanned volume of a folder or disk by right-clicking on them. The interface is in English, easy to select settings.

RidNacs is a powerful disk space analyzer that scans local disks, intermediate disks, and other directories, displaying the results in a tree view and histograms in hundreds. You can save scanned results in multiple formats (.TXT, .CSV, .HTML or .XML). Files can be opened and deleted directly in RidNacs. Before installation, you can add the option to launch programs in the context menu of Windows Explorer. When you scan a folder, you will be taken to the list of selected drives. You can also change the appearance of histograms by installing special skins. The program is not portable, it has 2 language interfaces - English and German. I couldn’t analyze the folders, as can be seen in the screenshot.

The portable Scanner program displays a pie chart with concentric rings to display the available space on your hard drive, external hard drive, or spacer drive. Moving the mouse along the segments on the diagram allows you to display the new path of the object at the top of the window, as well as the size of the directories and the number of files in the directory. Clicking the right mouse button on a segment provides additional functionality. It is possible to select selected catalogs from Cats directly from the program. There are two reg files in the archive with the program, one of which is used to add the scanner to the context menu of Windows Explorer, and the other for its display.

Free Disk Analyzer deserved more than any other program. During the installation process, you will be prompted to select from 5 languages, Russian presence. I want this program to completely screw up with disk analysis, but once an hour I look around Disk Expert closes with mercy. HDD Scanner (Scanner) is a cost-free program that allows you to view useful information: determine the size of folders on the disk in the Windows operating system. The program shows the size of your computer's disks.

The HDD Scanner program analyzes hard drives, CD/DVD drives, external media connected to the computer (USB flash drives, external hard drives, etc.), and then displays diagrams The place is occupied by files and folders on these drives.

Those who work on computers move a lot of data. During the process, the space on the disks is gradually changed. I blame the food for how much space this folder takes up.

Having paid attention to the size of folders in Windows, you can rationally divide folders and files from different drives, and remove unnecessary data from the computer.

The cost-free program HDD Scanner (or simply Scanner) displays on the diagrams the size of the space where folders and files occupy. The diagram shows the size of the space occupied by a disk, folder, folder attachments, etc.

After the disk analysis is completed, a diagram will appear in the Programs window that shows how much space is occupied by these and other files and folders on the computer’s disks.

Move the mouse cursor to the desired location in the diagram to view information about a specific folder. At the top of the “Scanner” window (opposite the arrow) you will enter the name of the folder or file that occupies space in gigabytes or megabytes, the number of files in this folder.

There are two buttons at the top right of the program window. The top button clicks the “Installed and remote programs” function, using the bottom button you can clean the cat.

How to add an item in the context menu to launch HDD Scanner

For easy access to HDD Scanner on your computer, the ability to add the program item to the context menu has been added.

To do this, you first need to rename the folder with the scn2 program to the Scanner folder. Next, place the “Scanner” folder in the “Program Files” folder, which is located on the “C:” drive. This is however suitable for 32 and 64 bit Windows operating systems.

The “Scanner” folder has two registry files.

After clicking on the “Show Usage with Scanner” button, the Scanner program will launch and display in your window a final diagram about how much space the data takes up in a specific folder or on a specific disk.

How to view the HDD Scanner item from the context menu

To remove the Scanner item from the context menu, navigate to the “Program Files” folder, and then open the “Scanner” folder. Dad has the registry file Delete Scanner from Context Menu.
