The device itself is not very great and not important - both in hand and in the kitchen it is comfortable to wear clothes. To be honest, there are no complaints, everything is clearly fitted, and when squeezed, the body does not creak or play.

The camera on the back side does not protrude beyond the surfaces, the smartphone lies firmly on the table, and does not get caught when touching the screen. The beds could have been placed as symmetrically, but Samsung did not put any strain on the drive of the symmetrical elements on the body.

Then the finger scanner was placed in the center, even close to the camera. He places it exactly under the pad of his unusual finger, but then immediately places his finger on the end of the chamber, clasping it. It would be better if these elements were interspersed in the same bed.

They did not install a LED indicator above the screen, nor did they implement the Always On Display function.

Below the screen there is no row of touch-sensitive hardware buttons; the buttons have moved to the screen. The screen itself has no curves at the edges, no weighty forelock - it looks rich.

There are no everyday claims to the bottom buttons: large, pliable, springy in the world, placed in their places - all is well with this.

What’s important is that the main feature here is not on the end (as in most current smartphones) and not on the back panel (as has always happened before), but on one of the side edges, which rarely goes to the edges.

On one of the sides there is also a double slot for cards: a Nano-SIM card is inserted into one slot, and the other is for one Nano-SIM and one microSD. It’s important that you don’t have to sacrifice one of your SIM cards, which is important, for example, when traveling abroad. Hot swapping of cards is encouraged.

There is nothing on the top end, but on the bottom you can find a microphone and a USB connector, not USB Type-C, but the old Micro-USB. The 3.5 mm audio output to headphones has been removed.

It can be seen that at maximum and close to its brightness, the modulation amplitude is not very large, as a result of which there is no visible noise. However, with a strong decrease in brightness, modulation with a large amplitude appears, which can already be seen in a test for the presence of a stroboscopic effect or with fluid eyes. Due to individual sensitivity, such measures may lead to increased fatigue.

This screen has a Super AMOLED matrix - an active matrix based on organic light-emitting diodes. A multi-color image is created using subpixels of three colors - red (R), green (G) and blue (B), and red and blue subpixels are twice as small, which can be called RGBG. For such matrices, Samsung has introduced the name PenTile RGBG. The separate part of the screen is important for the green subpixels; for the other two, it will be twice as low. Obviously, there is an unevenness of contrasting cordons and other artifacts, and through a not very high resolution it is difficult to remove them.

The screen is characterized by monstrous cuts as I look around. True, the white color, when dried on small kuti, produces an ice-like blue-green tint, while the black color is simply lost to black under any kuti. The panel is black, so the contrast parameter in this type will not be stagnant. For the sake of clarity, let’s take a look at the photos on the screen of the Samsung Galaxy J6 (profile Main) and another participant, the same images were displayed, in which the brightness of the screens was initially set to approximately 200 cd/m², and the color balance on the camera switched to 6500 K.

The color rendering is good, there are a lot of colors in the world, and the color balance on the screens is slightly changing. The reason is that the spectral sensitivity of the camera matrix is ​​not so closely matched by the characteristics of the human eye.

The brightness on both screens has noticeably changed (to avoid strong darkness, the brightness has increased evenly with previous photographs), but on the smartphone version the drop in brightness is much less pronounced. As a result, despite the formally new brightness, the screen of the Samsung Galaxy J6 visually looks richly brighter (compared with RC screens), which is why you often have to look at the screen of a mobile device at least under a small cut-off.

Let's bring the pouches. The screen can achieve high maximum brightness and has a built-in anti-glare lens, so the device can be used on a sunny summer day without any problems. In the dark, brightness can be reduced to a comfortable value. However, you have to select the adjustment manually, as there is no remaining automatic mode. To succeed, the screen needs to have an effective oleophobic coating, as well as a color color close to sRGB (if you select the right profile) and a good color balance. At the same time, let us remind you about the hidden qualities of OLED screens: black color (as nothing is displayed on the screen), noticeably less, lower in the RK, a drop in the brightness of the image when looking at it. To a small extent, you can modulate the brightness of the screen. Those who are especially sensitive to the slightest degree of pain may suffer from fatigue. Camera

The front camera of the Samsung Galaxy J6 had a Samsung S5K4H5YC sensor with a separate 8 MP unit and a lens with an f/1.9 aperture. In a damp, light-colored sleep, you can tune in, which allows you to take selfies in low-light conditions. Autofocus is disabled.

For the high-end camera, there is also one module: a Samsung S5K3L2 sensor with a separate 13 MP unit and a lens with an f/1.9 aperture. The manual “Professional” mode, although not very flexible, affects the choice of light sensitivity (up to ISO 800) and white balance, as well as exposure correction. The menu is set up initially, the selection menu is divided on one side, which scrolls down. Є HDR Auto mode, and the axis of RAW photos cannot be saved normally, but this functionality can be implemented by third-party camera programs via the Camera2 API.

It is important to call the camera a flagship, its sharpness and detail are far from significant, and the noise behind them can be seen in daytime shots in sleepy weather. Timing is no less, the nature of the software processing is not disruptive, photos can be viewed in a larger size, and after changing them to 5-6 MP, you can share them with friends. Of course, it’s all about taking photographs in good light, since during the day the camera begins to move, light sensitivity and visibility suddenly become too high, and focus and blur are difficult to take a lot of pictures after. In our opinion, the camera is good for its own sake, it allows you to take a lot of clear pictures for these minds, which in principle can be obtained on an inexpensive smartphone.

The camera can record video at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 30 fps; there are no other modes of 4K and 60 fps. There is also no stabilization. The quality of video recording in terms of detail and brightness is even poor, white balance is automatically set correctly, and fast phase autofocus works clearly. The sound is recorded more or less cleanly, although there may be no noise reduction system in your smartphone.

Telephone and communication

The Samsung Galaxy J6 platform supports LTE Cat.6 connections with transmission speeds of up to 300/50 Mbps. All three bands that are marketed in Russia, LTE FDD (Band 3, 7, 20), are supported. In practice, in the Moscow region, the device demonstrates the performance of the work in dart-free boundaries, does not waste ties, and quickly renews ties after a damaged wound.

And the focus on the communication capabilities of the smartphone has been spared: there is no support for another Wi-Fi band (5 GHz) and an all-day NFC module, so the smartphone does not work with travel cards, nor with Samsung Pay, and much more.

The smartphone supports the 4G/3G SIM card in active mode for one hour. The SIM card will be used in 3G for voice communication, but a different card is assigned for data transfer in 4G. Use cards in Dual SIM Dual Standby mode, there is only one radio modem.

Software and multimedia

As a software platform, the Samsung Galaxy J6 smartphone uses Google Android version 8.0 with a new shell, called Samsung Experience, and the ninth version of the interface is installed here. The shell is well recognized, it is characterized by the maximum number of different settings, a network of icons of add-ons on desktops is adjusted, all popular functions are included in a rich set of icons і, cloning of add-ons, one-handed robot mode and support for gesture control on the spot. Samsung Pay is not supported.

The set of installed programs is standard: Microsoft programs, Yandex, Ubank, as well as all the well-known Samsung utilities (Smart Things, Samsung Health, Samsung Members, Galaxy Apps, etc.) - everything is in place.

To play music, you need to use the standard Google Music programmer with a set of options for optimizing Dolby Atmos sound, preventing noise from headphones. The sound is heard both through the speaker and in headphones at a very good average level, without distortion. The sound is clean and booming. Productivity

The Samsung Galaxy J6 hardware platform is based on the Samsung Exynos Octa 7870 SoC, manufactured on a 14-nanometer process. This SoC configuration includes all Cortex-A53 processor cores with a frequency of up to 1.6 GHz. The volume of RAM is 3 GB, storage capacity is 32 GB. Samsung Exynos Octa 7870 is no longer a fresh and productive platform, but rather one of the weakest in its mid-range segment at the moment. It sacrifices not only its powerful sister Samsung Exynos 7872, but also Snapdragon 625/626, HiSilicon Kirin 659. This is the message for the “young middle class”, but it is no longer the best solution.

In real-life scenarios, there is still no barrier for this SoC, but the game is obviously not the same: Injustice 2, for example, is noticeably annoying, although Modern Combat 5 goes without respect. And no less, such a smartphone definitely doesn’t have enough productivity reserves for future updates.

All the results that we collected when testing the smartphone using the latest versions of popular benchmarks were compiled into a table for ease of reference. The table contains a number of other devices from different segments, also tested on similar versions of benchmarks (be careful not to make a preliminary assessment of the dry numbers). Unfortunately, within the framework of one level it is not possible to reveal the results from different versions of benchmarks, so “behind the scenes” they will be deprived of a lot of current and current models - through those that at one time were “slowly recoded” on the latest versions of test programs.

When tested in 3DMark for the most productive smartphones, it is now possible to run the program in Unlimited mode, while the rendering speed is fixed at 720p and VSync is enabled (through which the speed can go up to 60 f ps).

The MHL interface, as well as the Mobility DisplayPort, was not detected in this smartphone; it had to undergo testing of displaying images of video files on the screen of the device itself. For this purpose, we created a set of test files with an arrow and a rectangle, which move one floor per frame (div. “”). However, in this case, the peculiarities of PenTile appear: the vertical light through the pixel is displayed on the mesh. However, in horizontal light there is no greenishness typical of PenTile. The range of brightness that is displayed on the screen corresponds to the standard range of 16-235: in the shadows of all shades of gray there is no difference in brightness from the black color, and in the highlights All gradations of shades are displayed. It is significant that this smartphone lacks the support of hardware decoding of H.265 files with a color depth of 10 bits.

Hour of autonomous robot

The Samsung Galaxy J6 battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh, and the smartphone demonstrates results consistent with such a volume, which is comparable to similar solutions on the market. This is very bad rhubarb, clearly above average, although not record-breaking. In real minds, the hero will definitely live up to the evening exercises.

Samsung Galaxy J6 is now available in the official Russian market at a price of 14 thousand rubles. For such an expensive brand like Samsung, this price seems to be quite attractive. The same Galaxy A6+ is sold on the Russian market for as much as 25-27 thousand rubles, the difference is great. However, it’s not a good idea to rely on the generosity of the Koreans: the updates of J6 2018 and J4 2018 are even cheaper, not only for the price, but also for the price. They have a plastic body, a weak and old hardware platform, which is in no way comparable to the current average solutions. Cameras, sound, autonomy - on a satisfactory and good level, but again: what is the support for NFC and how to live in the everyday world without the ability to use contactless payment? On the strong side, you can see the lack of brightness of the screen, either Super AMOLED with its modulation at low brightness levels, or PenTile with separate 720p settings, or without automatic brightness control. We have seen before us the product of a well-known grower. A smartphone, insanely, in its own way, is disgusting, but among the products of Chinese manufacturers at such a price there are many alternatives, so this particular choice is not for everybody.
